What a great location. We have been here a number of times. Summer time is such a great escape from the city. The cottages are exactly as described and the water activities are good for families and couples. Also we have been in the winter during Ice fishing season. So peaceful and a great escape for us for a weekend. Looking forward to coming back in the Fall. Will be a season we have yet to explore there. I have no doubt it will likely become our new tradition with our friends. See you soon. J & J

We went for an ice fishing this weekend. Due to the warm weather we decided not to attempt fishing The owner still put up a tent for us just in case. We still had a great time cottage had lots of room and the 8 of us were comfortable..The guys in the cottage next to us went out fishing but did not catch anything. So we were glad we didn't go out. I would recommend this place for a boys weekend or a family weekend for sure.

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Buttermilk resort. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectation. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given a thorough tour of the property. The space was beautiful and had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect, with a beautiful waterfall. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing. We cannot recommend buttermilk resort and their property highly enough. Thank you Meagan and Stephen for such a memorable stay—we will definitely be back!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ A MUST VISIT!!! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ We have our own cottage in Canarvon Lake Kushog) neighbouring Boshkung Lake but it is not winterized and we come to Buttermilk Falls Resort for New Years Eve. The first year we came, we could not believe how amazing and cozy the cabin was, so beautiful, full kitchen, fire pit, BBQ and Hot Tub! my family had a blast and we did not want to leave. The beautiful and hypnotic sound of the buttermilk falls when you sit outside is like nothing else. My daughter and I were in the hot tub just before dusk, it began snowing beautifully and then we noticed a deer standing at the foot of our deck just looking at us. It was one of the most beautiful things we have ever witnessed in the wilderness. What made us return in all honesty, are the owners - Megan and Stephen. They are so welcoming and take care of our every need! This year, an unexpected amount of snow fell and we had to leave and run out to the store one morning-we did not have our snow tires and only have rear wheel drive. So instead of calling Stephen (we did not want to bother them) to plow the hill bright and early in the morning, we carelessly tried to drive up the hill ourselves and got stuck. CAA was of little assistance and Steve and his friend came to plow and shovel the entire grounds and decks! I was stuck waiting in the car for CAA and in the meantime, Megan and Stephen brought me warm coffee and a cinnamon bun. What a welcome treat! We were so comfortable every time but especially this time around! Because we were having such a wonderful time, we mad4 an impromtu choice to stay an extra day! When we left, I ended up forgetting my makeup bag with all of my toiletries and cosmetics in a cabinet there by accident. When I called Megan the next day, she went back down to the cabin and found it-kept it safe for me until I could pick it up. Amazing! Megan and Stephen are now like extended family to us :) we could not recommend a better stay in the Haliburton area! The winter time is beyond beautiful and to say the owners are amazingly hospitable would be a gross understatement! Thank you Megan and Stephen, we look forward to returning again and again!!! Respectfully, Juli, Wes & Millicent

This was our first year at Buttermilk Falls. We rented 3 cabins (plus my nephew rented one) on the suggestion of a friend and were not disappointed! The resort was great for kids - we had 5 kids age 7 and under. The beach was great with shade for the adults and watercraft available. The playground was in sight of most of our cabins and was well-used! The older cabins are a little tight space-wise, but the newer ones are great. We have reserved for next year!

Enjoyed the stay! Ice fishing huts were very comfortable with gas heating. Also Liked the jacuzzi. Despite the temperatures since we were visiting in February the cabin stayed warm with plenty of firewood and baseboard heaters. The hosts did their best to ensure a comfortable stay.

A few friends and I stayed at Buttermilk Falls for a guys' ice fishing weekend, and we had a fantastic time. The cabin was great! There was enough room for the four of us and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Despite the January cold, we stayed warm thanks to the baseboard heaters and the fireplace. The property was well maintained, with the paths clearly shoveled throughout our stay. While the fish weren't biting, the fishing experience was still excellent. The huts were clean, and the staff was happy to drill as many holes as we needed. We would definitely come back! A special thanks to Stephen for his hard work keeping the snow cleared for us all weekend.

We spent a weekend at Buttermilk Falls Resort for a family ice fishing trip and had a fantastic time. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Stephen was super helpful with our ice fishing experience and although we didnt catch anything we had a great time. Someone in the hut next to us did catch a pretty big walleye. This was our first trip to this resort but are already planning to return soon. Thank you Megan and Stephen for all the hard work and love you put into your resort.
